My name is Valerie Locher and I’m Brian’s mom. He’s in heaven. Brian was diagnosed with neuroblastoma a week before he turned six, and he died about a month before he turned ten (in 2015). I walked with him through that four-year cancer journey, then through years of my own grief work that followed.
This page is a place to hold my writing and to provide resources I found helpful in healing my own heart.
Brian’s short years were marked by his constant smile, even in the midst of immense struggle. In spirit of his courage and positive outlook, and the love that flowed from his story, this site shares lessons, hope, and inspiration with those searching for healing from the pain of loss or who may be navigating a difficult or scary journey.
